MACL Reports Record Profits at 2024 Annual General Meeting

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) held its 2024 Annual General Meeting today at Hulhule Island Hotel, highlighting the company’s record-breaking financial performance and outlining future development plans.
The meeting was attended by Chairperson Aisha Noorain Janah, CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, board members, and EXCO members.
In her remarks, Chairperson Noorain emphasized that MACL's recent achievements mark significant progress, expressing confidence in the company’s future growth. CEO Shareef credited the success to a collective effort and reiterated MACL’s commitment to enhancing operations and profitability.
A key highlight was MACL’s net profit of MVR 1.1 billion last year—the highest in its history—despite operational expenses totalling MVR 7.2 billion, marking a 32.2% increase in profits compared to 2023.
CEO Shareef noted that the new terminal project remains a top priority, with expectations of transforming the passenger experience, enhancing service quality, and driving revenue growth in the tourism sector.
MACL reaffirmed its goal to deliver complete services to passengers, airlines, and stakeholders, emphasizing that the new terminal would represent a revolutionary leap for Maldives' tourism infrastructure.
