First Direct Cargo Vessel from Tuticorin Arrives in Kulhudhuffushi

The first vessel carrying goods directly from Tuticorin, India, to Kulhudhuffushi City has arrived in the northern city.
Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) said the vessel, VB Progress, carrying 127 tonnes of cargo, docked in Kulhudhuffushi on Friday, as part of efforts to establish a permanent goods transport route between Tuticorin and Kulhudhuffushi. The shipment included construction materials for the State Trading Organisation (STO), and food items for a private business.
MPL has scheduled one voyage per month between Tuticorin and
Kulhudhuffushi, with plans to increase the frequency as cargo volume grows.
