The monument developed in the harbor area of HDh. Kumundhoo was officially opened yesterday evening.
The monument was inaugurated by the President of the Kumundhoo Council, Ameen Mohamed, at a ceremony held at the Kumundhoo harbor around 17:00 yesterday.
This monument was developed with funding from the Kumundhoo Council.
The monument features the individual Thaana letters that form the name “Kumundhoo,” with the vowel marks (fili) carved out on the upper section of the letters.
According to the Kumundhoo Council, in addition to the official opening of the monument, a large number of benches have also been installed in the island’s harbor area.
