Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has commenced a search and rescue mission for a yellow-fin tuna fishing boat named “Kanduroadhi” reported missing off the coast of Thaa Atoll since Thursday.
MNDF said the boat is 75-foot long, painted in dark blue on the sides and orange on the top with a white shelter in the centre of the boat.
According to the owner of the boat Abdulla Rasheed of Alif Dhaalu Haggnaameedhoo, Kanduroadhi was last contacted on Thursday night around 08:00 p.m. when it was located about 54 nautical miles east of Thaa Fahala.
MNDF has made an appeal the public to contact them through toll free number 191 or numbers 3395981 or 3398898 or send a fax to 3391665 with information regarding the missing boat.
