China conducted various projects in Maldives in 2016: Wang Fukang

Chinese Ambassador to Maldives, H.E Wang Fukang have said that the Chinese government conducted various projects in Maldives in the previous year and various works were done to strengthen the relation between Maldives and China.
In a meeting held with senior figures in Maldivian media, this morning at the Chinese Embassy, the ambassador said that they finished the 17km high way in Laamu atoll. In addition he said that 25 percent of the airport development project has been completed as well.
“ Very soon the temporary bridge will also be connected. In June you will be able to see the bridge. Since the government wants to finish it as soon as possible, even China wants to do this. Our hope is to finish and start using the bridge” said the Ambassador.
He said that since the bridge will be very beneficial to the people of Maldives, he gives a special priority to the bridge development project.
The ambassador also noted that in 2016 various programs were conducted to strengthen relations between the two countries. He highlighted Speaker of the Parliament Abdullah Maseeh’s official visit to China as a representative of President Yameen.
In addition, he said that soon Free Trade Agreement between Maldives and China will be signed and implemented.
