Sea swells have not been reported in any of the Maldivian islands – NDMC

Although Maldives Meteorological Service predicted effects of tidal wave flooding in various islands of Maldives from the 26th to 30th of this month، due to the lunar eclipse last night causing changes in the ocean currents، National Disaster Management Center (NDMC) has said that sea swells have not been reported in any of the islands so far.
Speaking to “Vaguthu”، media official of National Disaster Management Center said that sea swells have not reported in any of the islands so far، however، advised caution during the time period during which sea swells have been predicted.
Salat Al-Kusoor was prayed in all inhabited islands of Maldives last night with regards to last night’s lunar eclipse. MNDF، MPS and all authorities have come to alert due to the expected tidal wave flooding. Authorities have also advised public to take precautionary steps to minimise the damage due to sea swells.
