President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent back the bill on amendment to the Prison and Parole Act without ratification.
The Bill on Amendment to the Prison & Parole Act will disallow former President and the leader of opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) to continue being the president of the party، as he has been sentenced to 13 years in prison on terrorism charges.
