The chairperson of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Ali Waheed has said that the primary of MDP for the upcoming presidential elections will not be held if former President Mohamed Nasheed’s candidacy is not accepted.
Ali Waheed، who is currently in UK made the statement during a video conferencing interview given to Rajje TV.
During the program، Ali Waheed said that “Our secretariat gives confirmation that، specifically when I am the chairperson، MDP’s ticket will not be voted for presidential candidate when the candidacy of President Nasheed has been dismissed by a tyranny”.
He further stated that “We will even take a breathe after overthrowing the President Yameen’s regime” and has described the journey as a long journey and the whole world is with the Maldivian citizens.
He accused the current regimes’ officials are “Looters” and stated that the government has been invaded by President Yameen’s “Looters”.
Ali Waheed said that he and his accompanies escaped Maldives through a slight chance found through the tyranny. He highlighted on his work at UK and said that the works have progressed well internationally and the whole world is overseeing Maldives.
The chairperson of MDP has urged to be ready for 26th July and asserted that the regime of President Yameen will be overthrown. Ali Waheed has said that MDP should join hands with VP Mohamed Jameel without considering his past actions.
