Attorney and Kendhoo MP Ali Hussain was summoned to the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) on Wednesday for criticizing a Supreme Court ruling.
Ali Hussain told RaajjeMV that DJA took his statement over comments he made regarding the Supreme Court’s ruling regarding the removal of 12 opposition MPs from parliament on a VTV show.
Alhugandu miadhu DJA ah haaziru kuree VTVgai, 12 MPs ge massalaigai SC in nerunu vaguthee amuraai gulhigen, dhakkaafaivaa vaahaka thakakaai beheygothun suvaalu kurumah.
Ali Hussain is a vocal critic of the Maldives judiciary, and has repeatedly spoke out against the lack of resolution to civil rights issues in the country.
He has been suspended twice over his critical comments.
DJA also recently lifted the 13-day suspension of former prosecutor general Hussain Shameem over a similar issue.
