The youth who was put on ventilator support after sustaining critical injuries in an accident in Fuvahmulah City has passed away on Tuesday morning.
A spokesperson from Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) said the 30-year-old Maldivian man died at approximately 8:12am this morning, while on ventilator support.
The accident took place at Fuvahmulah City’s Bodufannu Magu at approximately 10:15pm on Saturday night.
Investigations so far show that the accident was a result of the speeding motorcycle veering out of control and crashing into a wall, said the Police.
He was initially treated at Fuvahmulah Hospital and brought to Male’ City for further treatment in the early hours of Sunday morning.
