Public opinion sought to designate land for Islamic Center in Hoarafushi

The Hoarafushi Island Council has decided to hold a meeting to seek public opinion and consultation regarding the designation of land for the construction of an Islamic Center in HA. Hoarafushi.
According to the Hoarafushi Council, the meeting to gather public feedback on the site selection for the Islamic Center will be held on Saturday night, February 14, 2026, at 08:15 PM.
The meeting is scheduled to take place at the HA. Hoarafushi Council Office (Orchid Villa).
The council has requested as many residents as possible to participate in this meeting to discuss this significant project.
As part of the government’s efforts to promote religious affairs in Haa Alif Atoll, an Islamic Center has already been constructed and opened in Dhidhdhoo. Additionally, the project to build an Islamic Center in Ihavandhoo within the same atoll has already been awarded to a contractor.
The government is currently carrying out projects to construct Islamic Centers across various parts of the Maldives.
