NSPA spent MVR 7.5 million on therapy for PwDs in December

The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) spent MVR 7.5 million on therapy for people with disabilities in December, according to its latest monthly report.
NSPA, which provides financial assistance for healthcare services, said the funds supported 231 individuals, including 159 men and 72 women. The majority of the spending was directed toward children under the age of 18, with 221 children receiving therapy last month.
The largest share of funding went to occupational therapy, totaling MVR 2.15 million, followed by MVR 2.1 million for behavioral therapy, MVR 1.8 million for speech therapy, and over MVR 1 million for educational therapy.
In comparison, MVR 12 million was spent on therapy in November, reflecting a month-on-month decrease in disbursements.
NSPA continues to publish detailed breakdowns of its healthcare grants each month, highlighting the scale of support provided to people with disabilities across the country.
