TMA sets record with over 7,000 passenger transfers in a single day

The world’s largest seaplane operator, Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA), set a new record on Sunday as it carried out over 7,000 passenger transfers in a single day.
In a post on its official Facebook account on Monday, the TMA said that in addition to serving over 7,000 passengers, the company also completed more than 800 take-offs and landings - marking the highest single-day operational volume in its history.
TMA described the major milestone as a reflection of the company’s operational readiness and ability to deliver seamless connectivity at scale.
The company also expressed appreciation for its employees.
“It is made possible by the tireless efforts and close coordination of our teams, who consistently manage highly complex operations while ensuring smooth journeys for our passengers, even during peak demand,” wrote the company.
TMA, an award-winning company with a fleet of over 60 seaplanes, operates to a large number of resorts.
The record for the highest single-day operational volume in TMA’s history comes as the Maldives enjoys high tourist arrivals, with 11,136 visitors on Saturday alone – marking the highest single-day arrival of tourists in the country’s history.
