30 Huffaz to graduate during Ramadan amid Quran memorisation drive

In a significant boost to national religious education, 30 young Huffaz—children who have fully memorised the Holy Quran—are set to graduate on the 27th of Ramadan next year, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has announced.
This year’s graduation ceremony, scheduled for the same auspicious date in March, will see 42 additional Huffaz honoured with the prestigious Presidential Medal, reflecting the government’s intensified commitment to Quranic scholarship.
Minister Shaheem revealed that so far this year, 21 children have successfully completed their memorisation and passed the official examination, with eight more either currently taking or prepared for assessment—an increase compared to last year’s figures.
The government has identified the cultivation of Huffaz as a key national objective and has taken tangible steps to support it, including a raise in financial allowances for Huffaz since June.
Under the leadership of a President deeply committed to advancing the values of Islam, the administration reaffirmed its dedication to promoting Quranic knowledge, emphasising that empowering the youth to memorise and embody the teachings of the Holy Quran remains a top national priority.
