Dhivehi Bahuge Academy (DBA)’s president Dr. Asharaf Abdul Raheem has resigned from his post on Wednesday.
A DBA staff told Sun that Ashraf announced his resignation during a meeting with the Academy’s staff at 13:30pm this afternoon, citing his resignation will be effective from 14:00pm onwards.
Ashraf has not disclosed the reason behind his resignation.
The term of Ashraf who was appointed DBA’s president in August 2021 is set to expire in August 2026.
Ashraf resigned from his post after four years, four months and 22 days in office.
During his tenure, Ashraf had undertaken significant efforts to develop Dhivehi language and literature including holding school-level and government office-level training programs and competitions.
