Brunei, Hungary and ISDB scholarships now open for Maldivian students under government listings

The Ministry of Higher Education has opened applications for a wide range of foreign scholarship opportunities funded by international governments and agencies. The ministry published and gazetted the announcements on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Among the opportunities now open are scholarships offered by the Government of Brunei. The ministry said OIC member countries have been informed that Maldivians are eligible to apply for scholarship programmes conducted by Brunei’s universities. Interested applicants have been asked to submit their online applications before February, with details on available courses and application procedures published on the ministry’s website.
The ministry has also reminded selected candidates to ensure that the institutions they choose are recognised by the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) before departing for their studies.
In addition to Brunei, scholarship opportunities are available for studies in Hungary, as well as programmes funded by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). The ministry has also opened applications for Maldivian government scholarships for students currently studying abroad.
Students awaiting updates on previously raised concerns about government scholarship issues have not yet been informed of the exact date on which the matter will be resolved.
