Sheikh Mohamed Didi, the Deputy Leader of the Adhaalath Party has said that no one will be safe in the Maldives if the constitution is localized according to the whims of the ruling PPM.
He made this remark speaking at the meeting held at Male’ City Council Hall by the “Maldivians against tyranny” movement.
Sheikh Mohamed Didi said that a group from the ruling party is claiming that the constitution of Maldives is a foreign constitution imported to Maldives. He said that they consider that it is not fit to be applied to Maldives it needs to be localized.
Sheikh Mohamed Didi said that that the government is only brining this excuse to bring changes to the constitution to arrest and sentence all those who stand against the government.
In addition to this he said that MDP, Jumhooree Party and Adhaalath Party are not working together upon one philosophy but are working together each according to their own political philosophy.
He said it is only those who want to cause division and rifts between the people who are claiming that the opposition are working upon one philosophy.
Sheikh Mohamed Didi said that the three parties joined together for one reason and that is to work against oppression which is also a religious duty prescribed in Islam.
