China’s “Bright Journey Eye Camp” has donated eye surgeries to 107 patients and resources worth MVR 7 million to the Hulhumale’ Hospital.
Speaking to Miadhu, Hulhumale’ Hospital Manager Ahmed Shakir said that all the operations were successful and that the resources donated to the Hospital were extremely essential to the Hospital. Shakir stated that the operation equipment cost MVR 5.7 million, while consumables and medication amounted to MVR 7 million.
Over 450 individuals had signed up for consultations, with 250 individuals shown for consultations. Surgeries had been carried out for 107 patients.
Shakir further said that this was an invaluable gift to the hospital and thanked China for the generous assistance.
Shakir noted that the local and Chinese doctors had worked together, rendering kind and invaluable service to the public. He thanked the team for their tireless effort.
He added that the camp had exposed local doctors to new experiences and training, adding that this was progress for the sector and the hospital.
The Chinese team had already departed to China, following the camp that was carried out from the 18th of this month.
