M. Kolhufushi has been hit with sea swells last midnight.
Information has been received that three areas of Kolhufushi were hit with sea swells last night. While the South side of the island was hit with sea swells up to 100 ft، the North side of the island was hit with sea swells up to 50 ft.
Although one house of the island was flooded in this incident، no person or property was injured. The house which was flooded has been stacked with sandbags and the flooding and the entry of water was stopped.
While Kolhufushi was hit with sea swells last midnight، MET office has said today that the chances of tidal wave flooding in islands have reduced.
