The Government of Maldives has taken measures to restrict the facilities in the prison for former president Mohamed Nasheed، his lawyers said on Wednesday.
Speaking live on RaajjeTV last night، Nasheed’s lawyer Hisan Hussain said that although Home Minister’s claims made the public believe that Nasheed’s is kept under ‘best facilities’، he has been treated unfairly inside the prison.
Hisan said several measures have been taken to restrict the facilities for Nasheed inside the prison، including installation of barbed wires in front of the cell to block him from entering into the open space in front of the cell.
She said that fences have been put up and that Nasheed has been completely isolated.
“Court’s verdict does not state to isolate him.”
