Opposition MDP has said that there will be no discussions with the Government until MDP President Mohamed Nasheed and Adhaalath Party Leader Sheikh Imran Abdullah has been freed.
MDP Deputy Chairperson Ali Niyaz said that they had previously revealed to the Government on how they will take part in the talks. He added that there will be no discussions until that pre-requisite is fulfilled. He further said that the Government has to make a decision on the issue, if the discussions were to proceed.
MDP said that confidence has been lost in the case where Nasheed had been re-transferred to jail after a brief stay at home. MDP had alleged that Nasheed was shifted to house arrest by an order issued by the Government.
The Government had issued an invitation to MDP to discuss on the issue of Nasheed’s arrest.
