Two youths have been arrested with over three kilos of drugs during a counter-narcotics operation conducted by Maldives Police Service’s Drug Enforcement Department and Counter Narcotics Intelligence.
The suspects have been identified as Shaain Ali, 27, Falak, L. Naifaru and Aishath Masha Ahmed, 20, Ihraamge, AA. Feridhoo.
The Police said they seized over three kilos of drugs during a search of a home in Male’ City Henveiru district under a court order as part of the operation.
Both suspects have been remanded in custody for five days as the Police investigate the case further.
Youths are commonly arrested in drug-related cases nowadays with youths actively involved in running major drug networks, as per the Police.
