The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has amended policies such that salary increments under the new pay framework take effect from the date an employee becomes eligible for promotion.
Previously, promotions were effective from the date of approval by the Ministry of Finance and Planning. However, with the current revisions, promotions now take effect from the date the employee became entitled to promotion, once submitted to the CSC following the approval of the Finance Ministry.
The CSC said the change ensures fair salary payments for employees who are eligible for promotion but cannot receive a salary increment due to pending administrative requirements for promotion, even if the promotion is applied later.
