China eye camp still open for public

Hulhumale’ Hospital has said that “Bright Journey Eye Camp” run by China is still on going and that customers still can get their consultation and prescription for free.
Hulhumale’ Hospital’s Manager Shakir said that 57 patients had undergone surgery and that all of the operations have been successful.
“No concerns have been reported with regards to the operations; all of them have been successful,” he said.
The patients who had undergone surgeries on Friday and Saturday, said that they are satisfied with the service given to them by the doctors and nurses. They added that they are satisfied with the medication as well. The patients further said that the local nurses and employees were extremely helpful.
“Dhivehi nurses explain the doctors instructions carefully. They are kind. We are thankful for their services,” they said.
Shakir said that nearly 400 patients have registered for appointments for screening, adding that all patients who are recommended surgery will undergo the process.
The local team of ophthalmologists at the Hulhumale’ Hospital are working closely with the team from China. Shakir said that the Hospital’s cardiologist Dr. Moosa Manik is closely monitoring the work of the team, adding that no additional treatment had been required for any of the patients.
The team from China will be active in the country until the 27th of this month. On the 28th of this month, the team will be reviewing the patients who had completed their treatment.
