Criminal Court had tabled the hearing of the former President and the opposition leader Mohamed Nasheed at 16:00 on Sunday.
President Nasheed is currently on trial for terrorism charges pressed by the State for allegedly ‘detaining and isolating’ the chief justice of Criminal Court Abdulla ‘Gaazee’ Mohamed in 2012.
During today’s hearing، the State lawyers will present documentary evidence in court against Nasheed.
The Court had taken the evidence from the testimonies of three witnesses during Saturday night’s hearing at the Criminal Court. The three individuals who testified against Nasheed are، the wife of Judge، Aminath Shareef، the sister-in-law of Judge، Sobira and Police Officer Abdul Mannan Yusuf.
If the former President and the leader of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)، Mohamed Nasheed is found guilty of his alleged terror-crime، he might face a jail time of 15 year.
