Economic Minister Muhammad Saeed have said that the port of MPL and Velana International Airport will be developed by Maldives without losing control of these two ports.
In a ceremony held last night to inaugurate new heavy vehicles brought by MPL from Sanya Company of china, the minister said that even now there are two projects going on to develop the airport and soon a project to develop the sea port will begin as well.
Minister Saeed said that President Yameen assumed office to put the country in order in three main streams and that he is successful in this regard. “ Developing businesses and increasing the national revenue is one part. Increasing employment is another part. Country will attain development through these things” said the Minister.
“ Airport is full of private jets. The sea port is full with goods. Is this not development ? “ questioned the Minister.
He said that after the relief aid were transported during the aftermath of the tsunami, the good transportation vehicles were not used that much and were sold at cheap prices in 2011. :it happened simply because there was no business for them.”
He said that however, now it is very hard to build boats from any boat building islands due to the increase in demand for boats. He said that these are the things people want and it is now time for the opposition also to stop harming the nation and join the government to develop the country.
The minister noted that for all these reasons and more, President Yameen should be elected in 2018.
