Maldivian Hajj pilgrim dies from heart attack

A Maldivian pilgrim died on Monday night while on his Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
The news was confirmed to Vnews by the Islamic ministry’s media official.
Abdulla Nasir, a Fuvahmulah resident sponsored by the Sisilfaru Hajj & Umra Group, suffered a heart attack and died in ICU at a hospital in Mina, on Monday night, revealed the official.
President of the Maldives Hajj Mission, Ali Shareef, said that another Maldivian pilgrim is still in the ICU. The pilgrim receiving treatment and the recently deceased had prayed and supplicated on Mount Arafat, the most important ritual of the pilgrimage. They were taken to the mountain with the aid of the Saudi government.
While 2,000 Maldivians have journeyed to the holy land this year, the Maldives Hajj Mission informed that almost everyone is in good health.
