Deceased Maldivian pilgrim buried in Mecca

The Maldivian pilgrim, who died from a heart attack Monday evening while attending the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, has been buried on Tuesday at the Al-Sharea cemetery in Mecca.
The deceased was Abdulla Nasir (of Aaraamuge, Dhoodigan, Fuvahmulah), a Maldivian who attended the Hajj pilgrimage under the sponsorship of the Sisilfaru Hajj and Umra Group. According to the media official from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, he suffered a heart attack and died in ICU at a hospital in Mina.
President of the Maldives Hajj Mission, Ali Shareef, said that the funeral prayer for the deceased was held at the holy site Tuesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, two other Maldivian pilgrims -- a man traveling with the state-owned Hajj Corporation and a woman traveling with Acro Hajj Group -- are undergoing treatment at the King Faisal Hospital’s ICU. According to doctors, the two pilgrims had been in treatment in the hospital for a week, and that their health conditions are still serious.
Both pilgrims, in addition to the recently-deceased had prayed and supplicated on Mount Arafat, the most important ritual of the pilgrimage. They were taken to the mountain with the assistance from the Saudi government.
While 2,000 Maldivians have journeyed to the holy land this year, the Maldives Hajj Mission informed that everyone are generally in good health.
The Saudi Arabian government reserved a quota of 2,000 for Maldives this year. Half of the quota was reserved for Hajj Corporation, while the remaining 1,000 were distributed equally among 5 private companies permitted by the government. These 5 companies are Mina Hajj and Umra, Sisilfaru Hajj and Umra Group, Al-Haramaini Hajj and Umra Company, Acro Pvt. Ltd., as well as Zaee Hajj Group.
The President appointed Parliament Speaker Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed, as the head of this year’s Maldivian Hajj pilgrims.
