A 48 year old Maldivian has been arrested in B. Goidhoo on human trafficking charges.
He was arrested by Maldives Police Services (MPS) under the Anti- Human Trafficking Laws on the 22nd of this month. Police reported that along with the Maldivian, 7 expatriates were also arrested. Out of the 7 expatriates, 6 expatriates had no work permit. The other expatriate had escaped from his sponsor.
They were arrested in B. Goidhoo after fleeing from Police in B. Fehendhoo. They were previously ordered to go to Male'.
