Maldivian students call on the Maldivian government to bring them home

Maldivian students studying in Nepal has requested the Maldivian government to bring them back home, in the wake of the 7.9 magnitude earthquake which struck capital Kathmandu on Saturday.
Maldivian students in Nepal revealed that they have been cut off from basic needs such as water, electricity and access to the internet, in the wake of the earthquake. Maldivian students have been on the streets since yesterday, since the tremors of the quake has made staying indoors a big risk.
The students also revealed that they want to come to Maldives till basic services are restored and that they have asked this of the Maldivian government as well.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson could not be contacted to clarify the current situation of the students during the time of press, though no students were injured in the quake that occurred yesterday.
Maldivian students studying medicine in Nepal has aided the locals and worked in the front-line to help those injured.
