No legal complications in appointment of a new Vice President: AG

Attorney General (AG) Uz. Mohamed Anil has said that there will be no complications following changes brought to the Constitution or by the appointment of a new Vice President.
AG Anil, who has spoken very less about such matters, said that no legal complications will be faced following the change brought to the Constitution by the Parliament last week.
He also expressed his view saying that replacing a Vice President does not seem as a problem either.
Citing an example he said that even in 2012 when Dr. Mohamed Waheed took oath of office, his vice was appointed with no legal complications.
AG Anil said that changes need to be always brought to the Constitution depending on the situation at the time.
He stated that the current Constitution was created in a politically turbulent time and therefore it is very likely that it has many problems. He further stated that now is the time to fix those problems and bring better changes to the laws.
While the AG has said that there will be no complications following changes brought to the Constitution or by the appointment of a new Vice President, it is rumored that the ruling party, PPM is currently trying to impeach the current Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed.
