Bangladheshi media reported that the Maldivian Mission in Dhaka is to be closed due to budgetary constraints.
A Bangladheshi Foreign Ministry Official stated to Dhaka Tribune that the Maldivian Government had informed the Bangladheshi Government that the mission is to be closed.
He added that in future all interactions to Bangladhesh should be carried out in coordination with the Mission in New Delhi, India.
The mission in Dhaka has been in operation for six years.
