The Managing Director of the Maldives Water and Sewerage Company Limited (MWSC), Abdul Matheen Mohamed, has announced that the company is on track to complete all ongoing projects by the end of the year.
In an interview with PSM News' ‘Raajje Miadhu’ programme, Matheen revealed that MWSC has been awarded 27 water and sewerage projects, many of which had previously been halted but are now being revived.
According to Matheen, the company is prioritising the continuation of these projects, with the goal of completing all of them within the year.
"We are currently carrying out 27 water and sewerage projects. Many of the projects had faced lengthy delays before. So now we have restarted all the projects awarded to MWSC. Hopefully, we will continue the work without interruptions," Matheen explained.
Despite facing challenges in implementing projects in the atolls, including difficulties in finding workers, Matheen expressed confidence that the projects will be completed without interruption.
"When we work in different islands, in some islands, we find it very difficult to find people to work. The projects are being carried out with such challenges," he noted.
Matheen reiterated that MWSC is committed to seeing through all the projects that have been entrusted to the company, and assured that they will continue without interruption.
