President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has today appointed former Human Rights Commission Vice President Mohamed Zahid and former Elections Commission Secretary General AbduRahman Solah as members of the Elections Commission.
Their letters of appointment were presented by President Muizzu in a special ceremony held today at the President's Office.
The appointment of these two members were approved by parliament in an extraordinary sitting held on January 16.
Zahid was removed as VP of HRCM after the parliament took a no confidence vote against him.
Solah most recently served as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology, from which post he resigned early last year.
