Maldives Customs Service has seized 1kg cannabis which was being brought into Maldives via post.
Customs said that the drugs were found when a package that came in via post yesterday was inspected. Initial testing indicates that the drugs in the package is cannabis, they said.
The cannabis found in the package weighs 1.07 kg, with an estimated street price of MVR 856,000.
A 52 year old Maldivian man who went to receive this package has been handed over to Police by Customs, along with the seized drugs.
