Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom has denied receiving money from Nasheed.
Al Jazeera reported today saying that Maumoon asked to give 100،000 dollars as a guarantee after Nasheed asked him to hold discussions regarding MUO. Al Jazeeraa said that Nasheed gave 50،00 dollars to Maumoon.
However Maumoon tweeted saying that these are baseless allegations and he never received any money.
I have never asked for nor received any money to join/support any political movement. Allegations contrary to this are totally false.
