Criminal Court on Monday has ordered to keep the former President and the opposition leader Mohamed Nasheed in detention until the court proceeding of him is over.
The State pressed terrorism charges against Nasheed for unlawfully imprisoning chief justice of Criminal Court during his presidential term in 2012.
Court came to the decision based on the information concluded by the Police Intelligence after evaluating Nasheed’s trial so far.
Nasheed’s remand until the end of trial was requested by the lawyers of PG Office.
Former President Nasheed had requesting to jury that he will continue the trial once a lawyer has appointed to him، for which، the court had granted him a three day period for him to get a defence attorney.
