Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has appealed all to remain calm and not to do anything that can cause unrest regardless of the difference of opinion regarding the New Year celebration Show to be held in Galolhu Stadium on 31st of this month.
Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed said that there is no room for unrest although differences of opinion are welcomed. He said that all should learn to respect the opinion of others and should remain peaceful.
“I urge all youth to be united. I urge them to respect each other regardless of their differences in their opinions,” he said.
Some have been stating that during the MDP government they did not place idols in Addu City but rather only placed monuments and in this government they are not holding a show to celebrate new year but they are going to hold a tourism count down show.
“We will not give into threats! The show wil go on, it is sad to see the level ppl fall, every time we try to promote Maldives & Youth!!,” Tourism Minister Ahmed Adheeb stated in his twitter.
Security Forces stated that they will not give anyone the opportunity to disrupt the peace and stability in the country.
