BML launches “Experience Maldives” campaign

Bank of Maldives, in partnership with American Express has launched a destination marketing campaign to promote Maldivian tourism, “Experience Maldives”.
The campaign was launched in a function held at Hotel Jen last Tuesday night by Minister of Tourism -Moosa Zameer, Senior Vice President and CEO of American Express Banking Corp - Manoj Adlakha, Secretary-General of Maldives Association of Tourism Industries – Ahmed Nazeer, and CEO and Managing Director of BML – Andrew Healy.
Through the campaign, Maldivian tourism will be promoted to American Express’ global network of clients. BML reports that over 20 resorts have announced their partnership in the campaign.
Speaking during the function to launch the campaign, CEO and MD of BML, Healy said the bank was delighted to partner with American Express in the “Experience Maldives” campaign.
“This is an important initiative for the country and it will promote Maldives to travelers from across the globe. We are grateful for the strong personal support extended by Minister Zameer, and we will continue to work with the Ministry of Tourism, MATI and other stakeholders to support the industry,” said Healy.
Healy noted the major changes to the Maldivian tourism industry over the past couple of years, with the introduction of new products and expansion into new markets.
“These products need to be marketed properly. This campaign will help market these products,” said Healy.
He said the mission of the campaign was to make Maldives the “Number 1” tourist destination in the world.
Both Healy and Senior Vice President and CEO of American Express Banking Corp, Adlakha expressed commitment to the campaign.
Adlakha said the campaign will raise Maldives’ profile among the premier clientele of American Express, globally.
“It demonstrates our commitment to support our merchant base in Maldives and we are confident bringing more American Express cardholders to the country will deliver significant economic benefits. We are delighted to work with the Ministry of Tourism, MATI and Bank of Maldives to do our part to raise Maldives’ international profile,” said Adlakha.
