Elections Commission (EC) has said that all token numbers released for re-registration have been served.
Secretary General of EC Asim Abdul Sattar told Sun that over 12,000 token numbers were served and that the last number was served at 9:00 a.m. Monday morning.
The 24-hour re-registration period expired at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
“All token numbers issued to receive forms to register voters who wish to vote in locations other than their permanent addresses, have now been served. It was done at 9:00 a.m. this morning. Over 12,000 token numbers were served. We are continuously working to process the forms, without disruption,” Asim said.
He said that the commission will be able to present the final voters list to the candidates by Wednesday or Thursday.
Asim said that they have not received any complaints regarding the re-registration process and that any question of validity of the forms will be verified in conjunction with the Department of National Registration, as ordered by the Supreme Court.
