After submitting the forms to the Elections Commission, PPM's interim council member Aishath Azima Shakoor said the commission would register the party within a week. "We've submitted all the legal documents required by the Elections [Commission]. We'll be able to get registered and start our work within a week," she said. Azima stressed that the commission will have a one-month period to register the party. The party held its registration meeting on Saturday where it elected former President Gayoom as its interim President.
