The Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry service will be launched in Raa Atoll this month, the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced.
MTCC’s Chief Executive Officer, Ahmed Saudi said it is President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s goal to expand the RTL network to cover the entire Maldives by the end of the year. As part of these efforts, services will commence in Raa Atoll within this month, he stated. In an interview with the state media, Saudi said that by the end of July this year, RTL services will also be launched in Baa Atoll.
The RTL ferry service was launched during the government of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. The service is currently available in Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, Shaviyani, Noonu, Lhaviyani, Gaafu Alifu, Gaafu Dhaalu Atolls, in addition to Fuvahmulah City and Addu City.
