The Bank of Maldives (BML) has issued a request for customers in the Male’ region to update their mailing addresses to ensure smooth delivery of bank cards through Maldives Post. The announcement addresses challenges faced in delivering cards directly to customers’ homes due to outdated or incorrect address information.
Mohamed Saeed, BML’s Head of Brand and Marketing Strategy, emphasized the bank’s commitment to safe and convenient card delivery. He noted that a common issue arises when customers provide permanent addresses instead of their current mailing addresses or reside at locations different from those registered with the bank. “Therefore, we request customers to update their addresses through Internet Banking or the Mobile Banking app,” Saeed stated.
For security reasons, BML cards remain inactive until they are delivered to the customer, preventing any transactions until activation. Customers must activate their cards themselves via Internet Banking or the Mobile Banking app upon receipt, as the bank does not activate cards on their behalf. This policy ensures enhanced security for cardholders.
The address update requirement applies specifically to customers in the Male’ region, where card delivery is handled by Maldives Post. In contrast, BML staff will continue to deliver cards directly to customers in the atolls, maintaining the existing process for those regions.
BML encourages all customers to promptly update their mailing addresses to avoid delays and ensure seamless access to their banking services.
