A vehicle ignited on a road in the first phase of Hulhumale' on Tuesday evening.
A video circulating on social media shows a white car engulfed in flames, with the fire concentrated towards the engine area.
Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) firefighters were observed actively working to extinguish the blaze.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) announced on their official website at 23:49 that firefighters from their Male' Area Command and Hulhumale' Fire Station successfully extinguished a car fire near Amin Avenue in Hulhumale'.

The MNDF reported that the Hulhumale' Fire Station received the incident report at approximately 22:48 on Tuesday evening, with the fire being brought under control around 23:18. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Similar incidents have occurred previously. On December 24, a taxi parked in Hithigas Magu, Hulhumale', also caught fire. Earlier, on the 11th of the same month, another car parked in front of Marrybrown similarly ignited.
No injuries were reported in these past incidents, but the vehicles sustained significant damage.
