Government plans to exempt service charges from tourists arriving in Int’l airports in atolls

Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail has stated that Government plans to submit a bill to exempt travellers arriving in the atolls from paying service charges.
Fayyaz made the statement during the Tourism Forum, which began yesterday at the Blue Lagoon in Equator Village, Addu City. He said the government will propose to stop passenger service taxes on foreign flights arriving at international airports in the atolls.

The Minister also emphasized the planned development initiatives for Gan International Airport.
The airport development project’s tendering phase will be concluded on November 21. He stated that the requisite cash had been allocated.
