Housing Ministry have said that there will be no negative impacts due to the changes brought to the outer sea wall of Male’.
Deputy Housing Minister Abdul Muthalib said that the work of industrial village and Rasfannu is being carried out after looking in to the surveys made by Japan before they built the sea wall. Muthalib said that they did not alter the design of the sea wall but moved some of the tetrapods outwards. Lately housing ministry has undergone heavy criticism from some people saying that these changes brought by housing will have negative impacts.
Housing Ministry also said that the recent rains did not harm the coast in anyway since the sea wall is designed after considering all these things.
