Not all police officers are crooks: Mahloof

Galolhu South MP Ahmed Mahloof has said that not all police officers are unprofessional, adding that most of the serving officers are honest to achieving their mandate.
He added that there were some corruptive elements within the Police, stating that the public focus should shift to addressing the issue.
Mahloof was released from house arrest after five days, after being proven guilty of obstructing justice. He was sentenced on the 12th of this month.
He was arrested following the protests organized by the opposition MDP the previous Friday. Police twitter stated that Mahloof was arrested for attacking an officer. However during the hearing, the Police said that he was arrested for obstruction of justice.
Speaking to press outside of Criminal Court, Mahloof said that there were no evidence to back that he had attacked an officer or that he had attempted to obstruct justice.
Mahloof’s arrest and sentence had been condemned by the Parliamentarians for Global Action.
