Ooredoo relocates International Submarine Cable to support the establishment of bridge between Male’ & Hulhule’.

Ooredoo Maldives has successfully completed the relocation its international submarine cablelink in male’, in order to support the ongoing bridge project by the government of Maldives.
The submarine cable project was carried out without any service disruptions for Ooredoo customers, through the utilisation of itscomprehensive backup strategy, usingOoredoo’s microwave network.
The 13 million rufiyaa project was initiated last week, on 30thMarch 2016, upon request by the Ministry of Housing and Environment, as the submarine cable was situated along the construction path of the newly proposed bridge to connect Male’ and Hulhule’.
Ooredoo is also currently working on establishing a nationwide submarine cable, from the north to south of the Maldives, in order to provide high speed broadband internet services across the nation.
With the issuance of an ISP to license to the company last year, Ooredoo will soon be introducing revolutionary fixed line internet services in the Maldives.
