Sri Lankan Minister of Finance، Ravi Karunanayake has visited His Excellency President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom at IGMH last night.
Minister Ravi Karunanayake visited IGMH last night، at such a time when an explosion took place day before yesterday aboard President’s launch “Finifenma”، injuring First Lady Fathmath Ibrahim Didi and two other people.
Minister Ravi Karunanayake visited Maldives on a former occasion as well. Rave came to Maldives along with Sri Lankan President، Maithripala Sirisena on the occasion of the 50th Independence Day of Maldives.
Sat night، Sri Lanka’s foreign ministry directly telephoned the Maldivian government and offered forensic help in investigating the explosion aboard the presidential launch.
While Ravi Karunanayake visited IGMH last night، some ministers of the government and some members of the parliament also visited First Lady in the hospital.

This includes Vice President Ahmed Adheeb، Health Minister، Attorney General، Fisheries Minister، members of PPM and MDA parliamentary group and some employees of the President’s Office as well.
President’s Office with reference to IGMH said، that Madam Fathun has sustained fractures in four regions of her back، and that the doctor has recommended few days bed rest for Madam Fathun.
Madam Fathun was also taken to ADK Hospital yesterday to get her MRI scan done.
In addition to the First Lady، under secretary of President’s Office، Fathmath Mohamed Solih and President’s bodyguard، Mohamed Abdul Nasir were also injured in the incident.
