President’s Office Minister Mohamed Hussain Shareef has revealed that First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim sustained some fractures to her back due to the explosion on board the Presidential yatch this morning.
He said that the doctors had conducted tests and scans and that they had said that there were some fractures on her back due to the incident. However, Minister Shareef said that there was no cause for concern and that the doctors had recommended bed rest.
President’s Office’s Under Secretary Fathimath Mohamed Solih, also injured in the incident had been treated in IGMH. President’s body guard sustained the most severe damages. Media reports say that fingers of his hand and foot were burnt in the incident.
